Women’s History Month

A series of events across a whole month!

As the first and only student employee of the President’s Commission on Women (PCW), I worked on a lot facets of the commission. This particular month was a first for the commission — it hadn’t celebrated the month, or International Women’s Day, since its inception that I could find in its history. So, I set to create a month of events including PCW-ran events, collaboration events, and a calendar that aimed to show support to other organizations that support women. This month of events ran under my supervision for both 2023 and 2024.

Women’s EXPO

This celebration of the first day of WHM took a lot of time and work from me and multiple other of the commission members. The EXPO is a labor of love: contacting dozens of organizations, coordinating setup and teardown, ordering catering, and managing flow. We also created merch – a shirt that could be attained through the EXPO and a pin button that could be attained through an event later in the months’ schedule.

The Kick-Off (2023) was a large collaboration event featuring Jennifer Gabriel (National Women’s Hall of Fame), the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program, and the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Resource Center. The reception followed the Kick-Off and focused on catering and connections.
